Clearing and organizing kitchen doesn’t just mean focusing on big tasks. It also involved the small chores, such as taking a peek under the kitchen sink (yikes!) dealing with that cache of plastic bags, and doing some simple pick ups, such as keeping the kitchen table clear.
Use Sit-On Storage
Do you have bench seating at your kitchen table? if so, you may want to replace one or both benches with a storage bench. These attractive benches have hinged seats that conceal a storage space that runs the length and width of the bench. Very useful and inexpensive storage solution!
These kitchen benches come in a variety of styles and their storage capacity is a real bonus, especially in a small kitchen. You can also find storage chairs that function in the same way but take up less space.
Bag Those Bags
If you like to have plastic bags in assorted sizes on hand, but don’t know what to do with them all, here’s one solution:
stuff all those bags inside a large plastic trash bag, then set that bag on the floor in a closet. Anyone who needs a plastic bag can just reach and grab one.
Downsize To Free Up Space
You know that the more clutter-free your counter tops are, the cleaner and tidier the kitchen looks. Well, the same is true of the floor. So if space is at a premium in your kitchen, don’t clutter up the floor with an oversize trash container. Instead, mount a smaller one on a sliding rack under your kitchen sink. You will have plenty of room there after you clean it out!
On one hand, you will be making more trips to the garage (or wherever you keep those large garbage cans) to get rid of your kitchen trash, but on the other hand you will free up space in your kitchen.
